A gunman opened fire at an Oregon community college today, killing at least 9 people and wounding 18, authorities said.

The tragedy marks yet another deadly massacre in an educational facility, bringing the amount of mass shooting nationally fatalities to 1,715 and mass shooting injuries to 1,302 in since 1966.

For purposes of this analysis, a 'mass shooting' is defined as either an incident in which four or more people died or in which 10 or more people were injured.
